I'm not voting because I don't have enough experience to say for sure. However, I can give you a little bit of information:
- Mahle is (according to what I hear) one of the biggest piston manufacturers in the world making stock pistons for many car makers.
- My Mahle's (-9cc 3.903" dished w/ valve reliefs) cost less than the Diamond -8.6ccs, and they included rings where the Diamonds did not.
- The machinist who worked on my block said that they were quality pieces and thought I'd made a good choice. He was going over all the parts because he would have vetoed some parts (Scat rods was one he mentioned).
- Mine only have a few thousand miles on them so far, but everything's working fine, and she's seen quite a bit of track time already.
I'm a satisfied customer at this point. Hopefully that continues.

What did he say about the Scat rods? I was looking at those too

i did the E-BAY kit came with MAHLE piston kit ant scat rods not a bad price i like them and when i had it all balanced the shop said it was all nice i used an eagle crank and they took minimal off he said.

I think they are "recommended for 200 or less but if your tune is dead nuts on, I've heard of some guys spraying 250-300. The thing I like about the Mahle's are that they are 4032 alloy, not as spray friendly as the 2618's but they fit tighter in the bore and last longer. They are pretty light and the already come with a complete coated surface plus the skirts are coated with something else. The rings they come with are low tension file fit and they seem to work well also.
they have a super short skirt and there isnt any material in that area that normally has to be removed to clear the crank. the 7sec guy i worked with said that they are a race car design. he was at some show and MAHLE had a booth set up talkin about there design he siad they knew there ****. there advertise like 20HP gain cause there ring lands are dead flat BLAH BLAH BLAH any wasys there cool. and come with that neat coating...!
Mahle also make all the Formula 1 pistons I believe.....thats what sold me at first, if they can hold up in those cars, they can damn sure hold up in LS1's! They DO have basically no skirt, they make a little noise but not bad. I'll use them on whatever I build next for sure, they are in my buddies 408 we built, not a problem yet!

One of the things that is often overlooked on the Mahle piston is that they do offer 2618 pistons in custom builds. I hit my 2618/Mahle 352LS with a little nitrous with no problem, and that was on top of 32psi of boost!!

I too went with Mahle pistons for my 408 build im working on. No feedback yet as they haven't arrived, but I was sold on them for a few reasons. For one, the Formula 1 thing, then the coming with rings is always a bonus, as my build is not an all out thing, I started out as a budget build but have added a few nice parts in there too, like the callies rods instead of the eagles I planned for, and third all the feedback ive read on the quality being superb for the price given.
