SLP heavy duty oil pump???
I was wondering about the spacers that come with the oil pump from SLP, when I go to put the front engine cover on it simply just won't fit. So according to their directions I gound down the flange and still it won't fit. So here is my question with the spacers that come with the pump and if I "have to" use them. If I didn't, it would free up some space and the front cover would probably go on nicely??? any help would be great. My car is an 01 SS, didn't know if there was any difference with the engines between the diffent years. Thanks

No they are not necessary and should not be used, the SLP pump has built in spacers in the casting. No need to use them. Without the spacers it will clear the chain and the front cover. They are in the double row timing chain kit, that is why you have them but do not use them when you purchase the SLP pump.
Thanks
