I don't know if anyone has ever done this, or if it's even possible. I'm sure if it will fit it would be a monster with a little bit of work. 496 cubic inches <img border="0" alt="[Firebird]" title="" src="graemlins/formula.gif" />
I really don't know much about this engine, but surely someone has thought aobut it.

The 496 is based on the old school Chevy Big Block. If you're going to the hassel of doing a big block swap, you might as well do a 502 crate motor, or a 509, or even bigger.
The 422, 427, 434, etc that you hear about in here are all based on the original LS1 or LS6 block. Its physically a much smaller and lighter engine.
