Anyone know the compressed thickness of the fel pro head gaskets for the ls1??? I have heard .041". Just looking for a thinner head gasket without spending 150.00 for Cometics.

According to Fel-Pro the 1041 gaskets are .041-.048. What ever that is supposed to mean. Those are the big bore gasket so I'm not sure about the other ones.

most fel-pro's have a compressed thickness of .041"...which is much thinner than the stock GM's...(think its something like .060"-.070"???)...only way to go thinner would be to go with the comet's or a custom copper gasket as far as i know.

Why hasnt FelPro stepped up and made LS1 gaskets plentiful and pushed there info? You have to get them direct from FelPro? That is not good support IMO i am running there stock replacements but i want to be able to get info and availibility from Jegs, etc. Am i wrong?
