Re: GM LS1 Hot Cam
After adding FLP's and the Hotcam I went from previous best of 108+mph to 115+mph for ~7mph gain in trap speed. No dynos in my area but that translates into a 60-70hp gain from the long tubes and Hotcam. Idle is fine on mine at around 850rpm, if a bit lumpy - but that's just the nature of the Hotcam. Some owners have had to drill out the TB slightly to bring up the idle speed, but again no big deal.

Re: GM LS1 Hot Cam
hey bro,
I love the hot cam..my idle is VERY crappy even with tuning and the TB drilled out...but it bring's low end torque up like crazy and sounds wicked!I might be swaping it soon though..just because im getting TEA stage II heads..so i need a cam with more lift to take advantage of the flow potential...the hot cam will be missed <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> but very nice improvement..i went from 12.20's @109 to 11.50's @ 117 with tuning, longtubes, and the hot cam..very nice bang 4 the buck cam!!later,
carter

Re: GM LS1 Hot Cam
Thanks guys. I work for a GM dealer, so I get a good discount on it compared to a TR or other aftermarket cam. It sounds like this plan will work. I'm after a lopey but driveable idle, low 12's, and something that doesn't require ported heads.
