Default O-Ring Heads

I was wondering if heads can be O-Ringed without having the block O-Ringed? I was looking at TEA site and saw that they off O-Ringing of heads for $175 with 0.041" Stainless wires. I thought that having the block and heads where both needed.

I dont believe you will have to reciever groove the block if you oring the heads but you will have to get specialty head gaskets for orings

Don't have to do both. One or the other. IMO it's better to do the block, but that isn't always the most practical.

I have O-ringed heads with no mod to the block to accept it. Custom copper gasket was needed.
