If I were you I would correct that problem quick. Our cars like to run a LITTLE lean but if it is lean enough to throw a code then it is dangerously lean. My suggestion is fix it with LS1 edit or get a MAFT. Running too lean can cause detonation <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" />

To be completly honest. I am not quite sure what detonation sounds like. However, if its not the ehaust popping, its probably a very bad thing. Hopefully one of the other members can help you out with that one.

If you have an LS1 and you have never herd detonation, you are lucky!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

The popping when you let off is ok. If you hear a rattling sound coming from the engine that sounds like marbles in a coke can when you mash on it, this is a bad thing. Your gonna need to find someone to put a laptop on it and see where your at. Then you could get a maf translator to fool your pcm and richen the thing back up.

Might be an o2 code actually. Autozone says mine is running lean but it's actually just a code for a header leak. Check it out and make sure where your headers meet your y-pipe that it is sealed up properly.
