Default Cam for my car?

I'm looking to see what cam is good for my car. I do drag race the car once and a while but most of the time it sits in the garage and gets driven on nice days and weekends. So i need a cam that makes good power and is street drivable. I'm new with cams and don't know much about them. If i'm going to be doing a cam what is recomended to put in the valvetrain? I'm hopefully getting rid of my bike this week so i'll have some extra cash. The mods i have now are in my sig. I'm just looking for some advise and some knowledge on a cam for my car.

First cam i had wsa tsp's 228R. Liked it alot made good power, had a nice idle even on a 114 lsa, and was good for me on a daily driver. besides valtrain and pushrods you mite wanna go with timing chain and oil pump for safty while your in there and a good tune of course.

my first ls1 cam was an '02 z06 cam. i wanted to do the sleeper thing. after that was too slow, i went with the 233/239 from tsp. i think the 233/239 can be a great cam for a weekend car if it is tuned correctly. you would want to go with dual valvesprings with this cam.

I'll need
camshaft of course
dual valve springs
pushrods
I'm thinking rockers as well? I've got around $1200 to play with for the car the rest has to go to fixing my daily driver.

You can get a cam kit from Thunder Racing and most of the sponsors who sell cams. The TR224 112 lsa is about the best all around cam you can buy off the shelf and I recommend Thunder cams over others.

You will need-- cam shaft, springs, pushrods, gaskets and some coolant and a filter and oil. A tune, supporting mods for the cam: headers you already have, ls6 intake if you dont have one already Optional is a new ported oil pump and timing chain. The timing chain shouldnt be optional here but it is. An ls2 chain will surfice you dont need the rollmaster double. You dont need rockers but could have your rebuilt if you wanted to.

1200 with you doing the labor is plenty of money for a cam only.
