I'm putting together a 422 over the winter and need to start figuring stuff out. The car is mainly a street car but will see the track a few times a month. It will also see a 200 shot in the future. I usually run 93 octane gas. I was figuring on shooting for 11 to 1 compression. Does that sound about right?
11 to 1 is do able on 93 octane or so I'm told as long as the cam is big enough to bleed off some of the cylinder pressure at low rpm. If you go with a small cam that builds lot's of pressure at low rpm you could have a problem. For example a stock cam in a 346 will ping/KR sometimes with stock heads usually a bigger cam like a 220/220 will bleed of a little more at low rpm and not ping the same engine.
What blocka are you using? A spraying on a resleeved block is more risky than spraying on stock block. Are you using a C5R block?
