I was wondering what the advantage to each is. For stock displacement and stage 2 porting, are more people going with the 5.3s b/c they are cheaper or are they actually flowing better then a set of LS6s? I was under the impression that the LS6 flowed the best, but now I am seeing a lot more people choosing 5.3s. What is so good about them? Also, in a larger bore situation, all bore 383, are the 5.3s still the best option? Thanks for all the info.

I'm no expert here, so I can't answer your 383 question...however as for the 5.3 vs LS6 heads - the reason most are going with the 5.3 heads are because they give you a compression bump without milling the heads. If you mill the heads you can go up to about 11.5:1 I believe and still have clearance for most cams.
I will be going with 5.3 heads becuase they give the bump in compression ratio and the cylinder head is actually CNC. Oh yeah, and they save a ton of money.
