Default why does my car do this!!

after cam install the car won't go back to idle speed after driving around until I come to a stop. then everything is fine again. on the highway at 60mph pushed yhe clutch in to see if it does it and it just keeps idleing at 1500rpm and doesn't go down until I stop. any ideas

Have you drilled your TB hole bigger? If so, it might be too big.

Damn it might be. I did drill it. but I used the specs from this site and installuniversity.com. Is anyone else having this problem. I know it's not a big thing but it is kinda annoying.

Mine does the same exact thing, it pisses me off, I never drilled my TB hole, but when you crank your car does your car idle at like 2k then come down to normal?

I made the mistake of drilling my tb hole too big and mine had the exact same symptoms.. If you were coasting and you the clutch pushed in it would idle between 1200 and 1500 rpm.. Once you stopped it would go down to 950rpm.. I corrected the oversized hole and the problem went away and it never came back..

Yeah, the TB hole is a little to large for just a cam. However, once you put heads on your car that 7/32 hole should be fine. On the otherhand, if you are unhappy with the idle characteristics at the present time then JB weld the hole and redrill it smaller <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

But yeah mine did this when I adjusted the TB stop too high.
