Default Valve Relief ? Inside

Is it possible to do them with the shortblock in the car without ruining anything? I am going to switch cams and think I will need valve reliefs and I am not going to pull the motor out to change cams so I would choose something else instead of the cam I have in mind. Thanks

you can do it in the engine. I think ISKY has a tool that will do this for you, but you need to know what you are doing.

What cam?

I am deciding between the TR 230/224, TR 227/224, and the MTI X1 as well as a custom XE-R Lope Grind 228/228 .553" I have stock valves in the heads and they're milled .035" so do you have any idea what kinda reliefs I would need on each cam or if the 227/224 and the Custom Cam, I'm not sure they even need reliefs. Thanks.

Brian, Verbs has the 230/224 cam and heads milled .005" or so and his P to V is .085", I would flycut the pistons if it were me and go with the big cam. The engine would probably have to be out but you would only have to cut the reliefs .030"-.050" which is not much. No metal will get in the engine as long as you follow the instructions.
