Default Which one, 383 or 6.0L 408?

Okay, I need to know which you guys would do? Money is very tight as well as time.
I'm looking at an additional $1000 for the 408 over the cost for the 383 as well as about 3 more days to get the iron block.
An ATI procharger D-1 will be going on top of either engine. I'm looking at 8 boost for the 383 or 10-12 boost with the 408.

The thing that's eating me is will the 383 last with HP/TQ ratings in the 600?
This is a daily driver, maybe 5 trips to the track a year, and mostly street racing.

Let me know what you guys think. I need to decide by 0900 14 Nov.

Thanks
Jay

I have all the parts for a 383 minus the pistons. And everything for a 408 minus pistons and block.
Both need to be bored, honed and balanced.
The owner of the shop informed me that I'm looking at $1000 more for a 383 or $2000 more if I want to go with the 6.0L 408.

So I have 1 for 408.

Well I went with the 383, figured the extra grand can go towards a rear-end or transmission.
Wish me luck. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
