Many, many folks are in the 11's with stock rod bolts, stock heads and some are cracking 11's with completely stock internals as well.
My limiter is set at 6800 and I test it frequently
Mine has 50k miles on the odo and shows no signs of slowing down.

11.68 all motor on a 98 C5 auto tranny with mods listed below in 80 degree. Only got 4 passes this season with mods listed below and if i would of gotten out this fall in cooler weather she had 11.5s in her all day.
I shift on my FLP Level IV a4 tranny around 6500/6600 rpms with rev limiter at 6800.

Argon Z: "sig" means signature. At bottom of post, some people describe their car's mods, 1/4 mi. times, etc. Keep reading---It'll get easier! Best wishes. WJ.

Go to the drag racing section I beleive there is a list in there listing most of the fastest LS1s. I am pretty sure you can check out the fastest stock bottems LS1, there is a bunch in the tens. I myself have about 50k on mine and it sees shifts in the 6600 range and has seen a bit of spray too

Oh yeah BTW, if you are interested in fast stock short block performance check out the horsepower stores car. They have a 2000 WS6 Formula that just turned a 10.04 on a stock short block and T56. I can't beleive its still up to the task considering its a heads cam car, with a ATI on it and a 150 shot. I hope it breaks the 9s soon they are so close

I was there a few weeks ago and saw the stock short-block up for sale. It's been for sale for quite a while.
