Default Homebrew Octane Booster

I seem to recall reading this once on here before, but thought I would post it back up.

http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/misc/octanebooster.html

It shows how to make your own Octane Booster (or race gas if you will).

Also, anyone know what: Reseach Octane, Motor Octane, and R+M/2 is?

Research Octane: this is what the octane was expected to be (theoretically)

Motor Octane: this is what they go when they tested a sample from the batch

R+M/2: Average of "research" plus "motor", therefore this is the lowest the octane should be. Never lower, maybe a little higher. Just a measure of quality control, makes sure the gas companies are honest when reporting the octane rating of the products they sell. This is the industry standard for calcuating, as such it helps keep everyone honest.

But motor octane is the number to look at.

Anyone use this with the LS1? So I can just mix Toluene in with my 93 pump gas and be OK? What is the max % recommended for us?

That sure does beat paying $7 a gallond for the Sunoco. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

Here's a little table I made when I used to be turbocharged:

www.turbo-ws6.com/racegas.xls

They are based on what Xylene and Toulene.

JSears...did you try my spreadsheet above? I would not recommend any more than 3 parts unleaded and 1 part of the other stuff.
