regular GM oil to synthetic causing leaks oil leak possibilities?
I have 2001 ss with 61000 miles, came from GM with synthetic, then changed to reg oil for last 55000miles, Id like to change to synthetic. Ive read that since gasket swell with the oil has been established, that with syn it may cause gasket leakage due to its different properties.
Advice please, Im changing oil tomorrow.

However, Mobil 1 seems to get past seals where others may not. I'd try something else if you absolutely want to stay dry.
There are a number of high-mileage oils out nowdays. They have an additive package that contains more seal agents that should keep them all happy.
