Default Anyone know how much compression MTI can get on their stage II LS6 heads?

What's the highest compression that anyone has heard that MTI will set up their stage II LS6 heads to run? My educated guess is 11.25:1?

Is 11.5:1 doable on MTI heads and what's the absolute highest one can safely run on Amoco Ulitmate 93 octane? Is 11.5:1 as high as one can go on 93 octane gas?

Thanks,

MTI 427 Roadster

With the right pistons you could take the C/R as high as you want....even 15:1 or more!

My MTI 422 had about 12.2:1 with Stage II LS6 heads. PaiN's is about 12.5:1.

How high you can go and still run pump gas depends on ALOT of things. A few being...

Do you want to run cats?
Do you care if you have to run your mixture set on the rich side?
Do you mind running the timing advance low?
What camshaft are you going to run?
What plugs?
What coolant thermostat?
What altitude?

With the right setup and circumstances you could run 14:1 on 93 octane.

But, most likely you'll want to stay with 12:1 or under.
