Default scat crank-shafts

hi all,
i have been reading this bourd for long time, and getting great information from it.

here is my question bare with me please.
i am thinking building 346ci soild cam engine. the thing is, i know that i have to upgrade my rods and bolts to withstand the high ramp of the cam. but if i wanted to spray NOS let say 75-150hp, i have been told with the amount of stress and pressure, even the nitrited stock crank wont handle it..
by extensive research. i reached to scat crank-shafts.. they are forged and cheap ($800-1200)
anyone has any info on them.. are they good quality and handle the beating

inlight me please

thanks in advance
Ali

Very good products but I don`t think there cranks for LS1 is that cheap yet. You should have no problem running your stock crank in that setup.

The stock crank can handle it no problem.

so how much the stock crank handle?!??!

cause i thinking getting oliver rods, custem wisco pistons, custom solid cam from FMS like 240/248 .700/.700 112,T&D 1.9rockers, and GTP stage 3 heads with 11.8 cr and 2.055/1.56. and a TNT f1 kit and ofcourese upgrade the fuel system.

so you are saying all that and 150 shot of nitrous will be no problem..

and last but not least, why the heck the LS1 cranshafts are so expansive..

What do you really plan on revving it too? The stock crank should be able to handle it no problem. You probably will spin a bearing or two eventually though. I am running a heads cam car with a pretty big cam and a TNT wet kit also and have had no problems. I spin it to about 6600 which i am sure isn't near what you are gonna be doing but I am on a completely stock shortblock.

BTW, Ls1 crankshafts are expensive cause they are new and there isn't that much market for them yet. So most crank companies don't even offer anyting for them yet. Unlike the regular good ol CSB parts aren't a dime a dozen for this moter.
