Interesting read: SLP heads/cam + dyno
This isn't my car, I just thought I'd pass on the link to those wondering about SLP heads and cam.
http://www.hoodscoop.com/ubb/ultimat...;f=10;t=007426
The car did 386rwhp tuned. That's all I'm going to say because I was labelled an "SLP hater" for opening my mouth about it.

I agree w/ you man, the numbers are waay low! I guess as long as he's happy though. 1400 bucks for labor on the head/cam install....damn! He'll be upset when he runs into a GTP/MTI head/cam beast!

For the flow #'s that is not bad.. Plus he is running I think 12 bolt and 4.11's. His list of mods include a small cam and cats.. His heads flow basically what a Stage 1 head flows.. If you were to take off the cats he would be over 400rwhp.. Plus, if he had a cutout he would be around 410rwhp.. Remember this guy did not use all the tricks others use on the dyno.. Ed Wright does SLP cars as well.. I think his #'s are fine..

I disagree. I think those numbers are pretty good. Considering he's using a small cam 214/222 on a 115 lsa, stage 1 heads, no cutout, no pulley, and still making 386 rwhp? Thats impressive. Figure adding the cutout and pulley will put him to 400 and a cam like yours Micah and he will be right there with you in power. One last point, he shouldnt have any problem smogging unlike that 230/236.
I'm not a fan of SLP but this is a good package for all around no problems.
BTW-Micah I cant wait to here your cam lope at a local event.

I think it's funny how people say, "For the flow #'s it's good" or, "considering it's got a girly cam." It's not a matter of how well it performs based on the specs, IMO the bottom line is how well it performs. Period. Not my fault the cam or flow numbers are cheesy, that's how it comes. I've seen street legal H/C cars blow those numbers out of the water. JMHO, of course.

I agree that his numbers aren't that bad for his mods, but those prices are pretty high for Stage 1 heads/cam. etc. I think at the very least he could have saved a lot of money if he went with JPR or somone else that does Stage I heads for a decent price

Those numbers seem a little on the low side. I dynoed my MTI stage 2 heads with the C1 cam thru FLP cats and made 410-415 rwhp - no "dyno tricks". Then I followed it up with a no cats. run and made ~430 rwhp.

Looks like a nice streetable package.
The new heads and no core charge is nice.
When I talked with SLP about this very package a while back I was told 370 to 380rwhp was what to expect. It's nice to see SLP actually understated the prospective gains for once.
It's also very expensive for the power gained, however as long as the car owner is happy that's all that really mattters.
