WOW, I think you should read your instructions that came with the studs. That have made some improvements and it seems not all the stud packages are the same. I know that I have seen a set at 80 and 22ft/lb.

sweet thanks guys,
Well the stud kit I got did not include instructions for ft.lb specs...i have actually gotten a few things from ARP im the past, for mopar and ford applications that did not come with instructions either...but it's no big deal to me since I have a tech forum to go to and find the proper specs thanks again guys,

Default question on head studs

hey guys,
well my question is, when the studs are in the block and the heads are on...do i follow the factory sequence for tourqing but instead of using an angle meter guage go in increments to 70 ft. lbs? or do i go by factory specs totally?..like 22 ft. lbs and additional 90 degrees?..thanks in advance

Torque them in sequence up to 70 ft/lbs for the mains and 25ft/lb for the top studs

Most people with the ARP stuff do one pass at 30lbft, one at 50lbft, then a final pass at 70lbft using the proper bolt tightening sequence. You dont use a torque angle meter at all on ARP bolts/studs since they aren't TTY bolts.

It's impossible not to get instructions. They are on the back of the box that the studs came in. Check the box again.
