Default Please help me decide which cam will to go with

Ok here is the decision I have to make. In my new 408 that is being built. We are going with a Comp cam and originally we were going to go with the XER lobes with this grind. 240/240 @ .609/.609 on a 112LSA. The problem here is going to be the stock rockers won't probably hold up to that lift.

If I go with an XE grind it will be 240/240 @ .580ish/.580ish on the 112LSA (maybe a little more but in the 580 range) This will allow me to run my factory rockers and lifters and should save me about $1100 or so.

The question is I quess do you forsee me losing more than maybe 5rwhp or having any reliability issues going to the XE set up?

That $1100 sure would make a nice deposit on that new NXL direct port kit that is coming out in JAN.

Well, I can't think of any definate cars to verify this, I'm pretty sure there are a number of cars running more lift than this with stock rockers... My old GTP cam was close, at .591 lift.

George do you think I would lose that much going from the XER to the XE or which way. I think I am going to go with the XE and stock rockers for now and save the money but I want all opinions from everyone on what may be the advantages of each.
