Default Does my ported oil pump suck?

I just finished my heads, cam, oil pump swap and my oil pressure isn't as good as with the stock pump. Is there a chance I did something wrong on the install or does this pump just suck? At idle with the stock pump after she got warm it would barely go below 40. Now with the new katech ported pump it goes to around 32-33. It doesn't seem to want to raise as the RPM's do either. It does go up some but not enough from what i'm seeing. Anyone else had this problem. Any help would be appreciated. I did remember to put the seal out of the old pump into the new one so I know that can't be it. Any other ideas. Thanks guys

Could be ab install problem.O ring for the pickup could be not sealing or sealing problems where the pump bolts to the block.
My Katech pump puts out the same pressure as before pump.

Katech doesnt shim the pumps to make more pressure than stock, and every pump is going to vary a little for oil pressure. Mine makes about the same oil pressure as before.

You need to put fresh oil in and see if it comes back up, maybe coolant is watering down your oil resulting in less viscosity?

IMO it just sucks. My 98 oil pump held higher pressure then my Kaytech one.

mine is very low also. i am going to check the o-ring this week, and if it is not the problem, i am going back to a stock oil pump.

mine runs at 30ish, and then when it gets warm, it drops down to 15 sometimes.

When the oil is warm and at idle, the oil pressure drops to 16psi and when I drive around it is always 30ish. I put in a stock oil pump, planning on checking the oring. Let me know what happens with your car, if it was the oring or not.

I put over 100 miles on mine, trying different things to see if I could figure it out, but it looks like the o-ring or the pump is the last thing to check (without tearing the whole engine apart). I just kept my car below 3500rpms, according to the shop manual, 24psi is safe for 4000rpms.
