Default High compression + bad battery + underdrive pullies = missfire?

Well since I installed my high compression heads, I have only been to the track once and had a bad nitrous explosion. Since than, my battery has gone south. The battery is not strong enough to even light up the interior lights with the keys in the ignition. I can jumpstart the car and get it running but it sounds alittle rough and lacks top end power. Could a bad battery and underdrive pullies not allow the ignition system to work correctly and give the spark plugs enough juice to light the 11.75:1 charge?
