Default reliable cam for daily driver

ok i'm thinkin about doin a cam sometime in the future, after headers,ls6 manifold, heads, etc. whats a good cam for a daily driver that'll give good power gains, keep the gas mileage resonable, and be reliable for everyday driving.

Most of the popular cams are good daily driver cams.

I'd imagine some of the more hardcore nothern members of this site would tell you a 230/230 cam is fine

I have had no drivability problems with my 226/226 575/575 114 cam.

Also, it seems the comp 26918's are durable so as long as you have under 600 lift you should be good to use these springs, which are a factory replacement and will use factory retainers.

I agree with Mike (although I'm a westerner ), I had a h/c on my daily driver, the cam was 227/227 .591/.591 113 LSA. Without tuning there were som minor issues, with LS1 Edit tuning I barely noticed it was there. Gas mileage was great even with that cam and 4.10's (M6).

Pewter who ground your cam?
My car idles at about 875 in gear. My throttle body is drilled to an 11/64th bit. With closed borla there is not much lope, but with it open you hear the cam pretty clearly. Sorry no dyno numbers just track times.

Mike, the cam is a Comp and it came from Speed Demon. 226/226 .570/.570 114+4. I plan to run GTP stage 2 heads. Will get double springs to stay safe. Your track times are nice. I have a Vig 3200 right now, but plan on a PT4400 like you have. I'm glad you can hear the lope. I have a Borla with an electric plate, so I can hear the cam when I want to
