Differences in stage 1/2 heads, power and drivability? I'm trying to justify an extra $500-700 for stage 2 heads w/ 2.02's over stage 1's with stock size valves. My cam has .570 lift. How much power would I be giving up going with stage 1's, and is there a big difference in driviablitiy (low end) with the two? My car is a daily driver, A4 with a converter. I will go to the track, but I mainly stalk the streets on the weekends.

The most power we have had anyone make with our Stage II heads ($1799) is 440 RWHP and the most with the Stage I heads ($1299) is 415 RWHP so that should be the difference between at least our heads <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> We think the hot set up right now is to get the Stage I heads (they have the same exact CNC program as the Stage II) and upgrade to the oversize 2.02 intake valve. The reason for this is our Stage I head only flows 270 cfm on intake and just changing the valve takes it up to 300cfm, so you would get Stage II performance at close to a Stage I price, which would be $1435, and then the core charge difference between the 5.7 you have and the 5.3 (which is very popular for compression without losing piston to vavle clearance) is $100 and makes your compression 10.8:1 with no milling. Hope this helps.
