Default I need some help here....

Here is the deal. I have a set of 5.7 heads coming that are milled .030 my push rods are 7.350". What is the maximum lift cam I can run without having P/V clearance issues? I am looking at the TR/224 or the MTI C2. Both are 224/224 but one is .563 lift and the other is .581. Also exacitly what effect does having 0 +2 or +4 advance ground in have? Should I swap out the rods for 7.400" ones. Please advise.

back when I was first doing mti s2 heads and c2 cam they sent me 7.400 stock length pushrods, that was going on my stock bottom end with LS1 heads milled .030.

P to V issues tend to occur more because of durations than because of lift. I don't think there would really be much difference in a TR-224 and a C2 as far as P to V goes.

My car has very tight P to V with a 224 XE-R cam that's almost identical to the C2. My car was the exception as most don't have issues with a 224 cam as long as the heads haven't been milled excessively. By degreeing the cam and installing with 2 degrees advance, my car has good P to V clearance. Be sure and check P to V on your set up. Lot's of other people used heads milled as much as mine were with bigger cams and didn't have issues. Lot's of things can effect P to V like: the thickness of the compressed head gasket being a prime factor or if the valves are sunk an extra .010 or whatever. That sort of thing makes it really hard to accurately speculate.

Good Luck
