Default Guys running a 4.1" Crank.

For those running a 4.1 crank where are you getting your custom pistons from and how much more did they cost? Also does the rod length stay at 6.125?

4.185" stroke here. Erik from HKE and Brian Nutter at Wiesco worked together for the piston in my motor. Cost was about $200 more than a shelf piston. Rod legnth is still 6.125". Piston was designed with motor life in mind.

It depends on what cylinders you are using and how long they are. Some like Beast96Zs are a little longer than the stock LS1 engines. Depending on sleeve length and application I have also used 6.200 long rods as well. Like he said also they cost 100.00-250.00 more depending on how custom the piston is basically as in dome, dish or flat top as well.

It's an iron block, 4.03 bore. When i was first researching building a 418 I read a lot of people complainaing about piston skirt/ring wear with the longer stroke, is this because people were not buying the correct pistons or is this still an issue with the longer strokes?

Yes the pistons have to be made for that bore length.
