Did the same thing not too long ago. I got lucky after about 2 days I was able to grab it w/ a magnet. Goog luck , but if all else fails your gonna have to remove the pan.

well this is what i came up with. **** it. it can ride around in the oil pan for a while. the pick up tube is screened i will just use a new bolt. and with the baffles there is no way it can get up into the crank or cylenders.
hopefully a oil change or 2 she will come out the drain hole.

you can pull the pan while in the car. That will be much better than pulling the engine for a rebuild. I dont know if it will come out the drain or not.. is it that small?
Anyway. Just remove all the oil pan bolts and the 2 bottom trans bolts(auto, dont know about m6) and then remove the bolts from the motor mounts wile supporting the front pulley with a jack... I would also put a jack on the trans pan.. Then you can lift the motor a little to get it out. Doesnt take a lot. I have not done this but have read about it.
I would fish a litttle more but if you cant get it i would go this way. Maybe look up some more info on how to do it. I read supporting the motor w/ the front pully will not hurt it.

damn i got that bolt. all i can say is holy **** do not ever drop that bolt.
I unbolted the engine mounts and jacked it up as far as i could then dropped the pan as far as it would go. I had it once about 5 hrs ago. but then lost it.
so in the end not takeing 2 minutes to wire the bolt cost me 2 days and 1 day off work
now it was worth takeing the day off work.
and also i found the pick up tube has NO screen.
