what cam??
ASP pullies, fast toys ram air kit, direct flow lid, mass air flow sensor, 4:10 gears, etc..
Not sure if the above matters, but what I have planned is;
heads and cam package to work with Vortech G-trim supercharger, SPL long tube headers, corsa exhaust, Moser 12 bolt, etc... I want to start with the heads, cam, and headers first. This car will be driven in Cali, so I either have to be able to pass emissions if possible. I want to have a fast, high hp car, with an aggressive sound.
Any suggestions?
A 218/224 114 cam will make a good boost cam and probably will pass CA emmissions. People have passed with 218/218 114. To get an agressive sound, just keep your idle speed down.
Mag: you might consider a 220/220 to 224/224. With good ported heads and headers, 400 rwhp is easily achieved on an M6 so you can run a mild cam if you desire.
Intake is what makes the power. They only way I see going with a conventional split like a 218/224 is if the car has manifolds or shory headers.
If your spraying 200+ then maybe selecting a cam with more exhaust duration makes sense but most of the time unless the whole motor is set up for spray, (heads exhaust port etc) it's better to go with a reverse-split or single pattern.
Exhaust duration tends to hurt idle more than a intake duration.
I'd go with a 220/220 to 222/222 as it should make better power due to more intake duration than a 218/224 will.
Sometime like a 220 XE-R lobed intake and a 224 XE exhaust might be intresting but I don't know anyone that's tried something like that. Sort of a baby G5 idea
