motor suggestions....
I plan on n2o...any suggestions on cu. in.? I mean is bigger is better?
I have run 10.6 with stock bottom and n2o. I want to run better than that on motor and be capable of 1 sec or more on n2o. The only hyd. cam I have seen is 9 ball with 10.6's in a 6 speed. Is this the best out there? I plan on keeping FLP level iv 4l60e.
AND a big question.....IS the iron block that much heavier? it is WAY cheaper a hundred or o #' heavy. OPINIONS PLEASE!!
IMHO a smaller bore car like a 383 built with the best or very close to the best parts would be of better service than a bigger bore car if you are having to save money on some of the internals. If you have an unlimited supply of the quan unlike most of us except "the colonel" then a bigger bore car would be nice to have.
If you are going to spray - you absolutely can't scrimp on the bottom end (gotta be all forged) and that can get extremely pricey on large bore car's. I believe the iron block is only 75 lbs heavier than the aluminum one - I would go that route with a big bore car on the juice. You can spend alot of money in hurry as I'm sure you already know - I'm spending in the neighborhood of 12K for my LT1 383, I don't think the LS1's are more expensive to build. It really all depends on it's use and what you want to spend. Of no real help as usual Oh yeah the solid roller cam - advantages (spin it higher, no lifter failure, absolute throttle response) --disadvantages (valve lash) adjust about evey other oil change.

I really never drive the car. I mostly race it. I do like being able to drive it on the street but I don't much.
I really can't decide if it is worth $10-14,000 to go a little bit faster and be a little less driveable. BUT at the same time I know I am on borrowed time with this stock bottom end. Are cubic inches really worth it? Is a solid roller cam worth it? I need to win the LOTTO. All of this is coming out of my pocket.
