Re: Federal Mogul Main Bearing part number?
I am really glad that Diamond Pistons has become a sponsor. Seems like every time they have info/insight that they can share they do. I just wish I didn't already have my pistons...I would be glad to support you guys!

uh ... I think the FM main bearing part number is 7298M. I don't know what 152M is, unless it has superceded 7298M or something ...

Re: Federal Mogul Main Bearing part number?
hmmm. I got the 7298M number directly from Federal Mogul. Summit calls the 7298M number "Main Rod Bearings". Dunno what that means. They call the 152M number "Main Bearing Set". That sounds more likely ... so I'll keep the 152M pn around as well. I'll need main bearings next spring ...

Re: Federal Mogul Main Bearing part number?
Found this thread while doing a search. Thought I would update it. I got a new federa-Mogul bearing kit last week( mains and thrust). It is clearly marked 7298..... Mine actually has M10 after that but that is because the crank it turned down .010. Hope this clarifies things a little when others are doing a search

They are both right!
7298m are stock replacement aluminum bearings with a 1/2 groove.
152m are a race bearing, tri metal with a 3/4 groove.
I have used them both and currently run the 152m.
