Default Solid Roller ?'s

I bent a valve over reving so i had to pull a head. so i was thinking why not pull both and go sollid roller? If you guys could give me a list of parts needed. and estimated cost that would ROCK! I plan on going to double springs to. also what would be a good sollid roller cam? Drivability is not a factor. only 1/4 mile ET's

Thanks

You'll need to contact sponsors to get exact pricing (I'd suggest Thunder Racing and Futral Motorsports, links to the right -> ). When I was looking a while back, it was looking to be ~$5500(give or take a few hundred) for GTP S2 heads machined for double springs & shaft rockers, cam, the shaft rockers, head studs, spark plug wire relocation kit, lifters, gasket kit, and maybe the piston notching tool (not necessary, but if you're gonna go, go BIG ). If you just machine your heads, you can probably knock off ~3k of that.

I ended up not doing the heads/cam, but it was interesting nonetheless.

Good luck,

Andrew

Are you still running the stock shortblock? If so, it may not last long spinning to 7,500 rpm.

I have my first solid roller cam for sale, it might be what your looking for.
236/241 .680/.680 112 LS, using 1.7 ratio T&D rockers.
I shifted at 7000 rpm with this cam.
Dyno #'s were 460 rwhp/418 rwtq with my old FMS Stage 2 LS1 Heads, 4.56 gears.
Best ET with this setup was 10.94 @ 124.56 mph 1.54 60', 3480 lbs raceweight.

For that setup I had Wiseco pistons and they had valve reliefs.

JS

not real shure when but i remeber the tires breaking loose at the top of 1 and taping it once before i grabed 2nd. no no t-brAke yet cause i broke the 10 bolt before i had the chance.

I think i am gona fly cut the pistons put a nice hyd. cam (234 234 591 591 109or110) on the x-er lobe. Should be fun. but i am gona put it back togeather now w/flycuts and keep the 224 224 until next season. cause i want to know what this cam can do first.

I think i will start stock piling the stuff for sollid roller

thanks for all the help guys.
