Default Lunati camshaft

Have been seeing a lot of lunati ads in most of the magazines. They seem to be pushing a 221/221 dur 558/558 lift cam with 114 lobe sep. Has anyone run this cam or know anyone that has. The boys at lunati seem to think this cam is the maximun I should run in a heads cam 346 daily driver.

It sounds like MTI's "B1" camshaft. If it were my daily driver, I'd go with a little more camshaft. The term streetability is completely subjective, so it's hard to define. I had one of our 224/224 112 LSA camshafts in my A4 SS for quite a while with GREAT street manners. Are you trying to pass emissions with the new cam? That will play a huge part in your cam selection.

That sounds like a good daily driver cam could pass emissions. But it all depends what you want out of the car.

I don't know about that cam, but I'm running their 230/237 .544/.543 cam with out any problems. I've got custom tuning and a 3600 stall though.

The car would have to pass e test. We have to test our cars every second year and if car sounds modified could be sent to lanes for inspection. Things have changed alot thanks to all the pesky honda's up here. How much power do you really leave on the table running a milder cam with stock displacement.

i've heard bad press on lunati's cams by several people, two of them i know hade them.i have the 222/222 hammer cam and i love the hell out of it.it's not too lumpy, performs great on the street, and pulls hard and smooth to 6,600 rpm's. ow yeah,my car is a daily driver that runs strong 11's. goodluck.

Hey Ed, Cars runnin great!!!! I've got some Jet Hot long tubes on the way and am workin a deal for the mufflex 4". Just sold my whole exhaust set up today. Went to Silver Dollar raceway with Ron, and we shut up all of the Fords at their own event. I ended up only running mid 11's though (car wouldn't hook), so Ron had to beat me and put me out of the Running. Ron won the whole event with a 10.8 Must be nice!

Keep an eye on the sponsor specials and GP forum. We're going to be running a cam special on our Comp grinds VERY soon, and one of the cams in the sale will be specifically for passing emissions.

FYI, I picked up 9 RWHP with our 228/228 111 LSA cam over our 224/224 112 LSA cam. With all of the bolt-ons, a quality set of heads, and our emissions-legal 220/220 114 LSA grind, it would be easy to still achieve over 400 RWHP. It wouldn't be too bad for a daily driver.

Did you run on the bottle? The duration specs on your cam are insane!! I got LS1 edit now so I'm gonna be doing some A/F tuning. With some sticky tires i should be in the high to mid 11's. I think the Longtube/4 inch exhaust system will put you in the low 11's

For the topic:
For driveability, I wouldn't go higher than 570ish lift and duration no higher than 224.

Yeah, I was sprayin. The tires were worn out so I was only cuttin 1.8 60' times. I was cuttin 1.5's when the tires were newer. So, I should have be runnin at least 11.3. Oh well, the seasons over anyway. Next season, 10's ?????
