What's the serial number on the back of the cam? If it's a 06 cam I can get some help from Comp for you. Let me know and we'll go from there.

Thanks,

Check the back of the cam their should be a serial number, it should have an 05 or 06 in it.
You will also see the lobe numbers and the lsa numbers. If you can take a picture of the back of the cam and e-mail it to me.

all I have read is about cam hardening/spring pressure. what about the lifter? if the bearings froze or something it could have prevented the roller from lifter to rotate and therefore gouge the cam. yes spring presure can cause lifter to go bad, just make sure lifter bearings didn't cause this. now what if bearing from roller lifter went bad it could cause gouging on cam and it would probably start to rotate the roller and gouge cam/roller as it's rotating too. so now it seems that the cam was at fault, so take a look at the lifter too!!! just throwing in something here that as not been mentioned yet. .02

Do you have to pull the cam? Can Cam motion tell what lot it was by their records? I had a cam ground for me from LME and I know they used cam motion. It was ground around 10/06. Core on the cam card says 3310111. How else can I find out without pulling the cam?

if the lifter roller froze up, I'd like to think there'd be obvious evidence showing that. The pic of the lifter posted *seems* ok but also pics can be deceiving.
