Too many miles for used cam?
Hey guys this thread is for anyone who has bought a used cam. I have always had an interest for reverse split cams since they work well on stock headed cars. I have a guy that is locally advertising an MTI X1 cam:
230/227 .591/.571 on a 112 lsa.
The cam has proven to make great power. Now I have had friends in the past buy used cams with great experience and well I mean my stock cam has 100k miles on it and it could be swapped into another vehicle and work great. So here is the question:
HOW MANY MILES IS TO MANY ON A USED CAM?
I realize this is an opinion but I need advice. This cam has around 50k miles on it so let me know!
TIA,
Josh

I think the best way to decide whether or not to use the cam is to physically inspect it. Basically look for excessive wear or scoring, especially on the lobes.
If it checks out physically, it should be fine. 50K miles really isn't that much at all.
