99 SS knocking and won't stop after warm-up I have a 1999 SS and I have the infamous piston slap. Usally stops after 2 minutes of letting the car idle. Now the inital knock is a little louder and it quiets down after the 2 minutes of idiling but it doesn't go away like it always did.
I have smooth maf ends installed and a maf translator. I had to turn up the base on the maft to "1" because I was running lean but I didn't have any sort of problem until a hour ago.
What's going on, is this normal, does the sound get worse with time?

Re: 99 SS knocking and won't stop after warm-up My car used to knock only when cold now it knocks even when hot.Dam GM rep still says its normal >To me it sounds like a wrist pin> I guess ill spray it till it goes clank clank.GM sucks *** about LS1 moise.
