Default Please, Enlighten me.....!!!!

What needs to be tuned when cam is changed. ? Supposely I go to TR220 LSA 112.... what exactly needs to be changed, and can I use Predator to tune it by myself ???

Also, I was just reading GMHTP magazine (March 2003 issue) and there is an ad of "The C-Comp WP Windows-based software that simultaneously displays and edits fuel maps, timing curves, enrichment tables, and data logs. Key features include the ability to monitor and control any mechanical changes, from cam changes to blowers or turbos.." The webiste for this tuning device is http://www.fuelairspark.com

I know LS1Edit is the best out there but it also costs $2500 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />
Custom tuning by a pro-shop aint cheap either (around $400)

Bottom line: What is the cheapest alternative to tune the car for the new cam ?

Thank You for any replies,
Adam

Saw this, thought some might have an interest. I have no experience with AMS or their tuning. I used MTI for my tuning and it's excellent, not the cheapest but I think MTI is the best for mail order tuning.

Talk with Chris at AMS and see what he says

For a limited time, send AMS your 97-02 PCM...and we will do any basic tuning that you need, and overnight it back to you...for $250. This includes the following :

Delete Torque Management
Modify shiftpoints
Change gear ratios/tire sizes
adjust settings for improved idle w/cammed cars.
modify KS settings
modify timing, ect.

Basicly, any changes you want done short of A/F..which is recommended only with wideband tuning.

Why buy a HyperTech when you can get something custom to your car, at a Cheaper Price!!! If you have any more questions, fell free to call!

If you get someone to tune the car for you, then you will likely pay each time something gets changed or updated.

This is what you need for your car.

The $2500 is for an umlimited numbers of PCM's, like a tuning shop like MTI might use.

I suggest you go to the website and read up, your confused about the pricing.

http://www.carputing.com

Here's the price direct from Carputing's website

LS1/LS6 PCM Editor/Programmer Package, locked to 1 PCM
$550
