I know we put patriot heads on my buddies car and they were absolute crap, they had to send him another pair which were also crap, this was a few years back so maybe they have fixed some of their issues?

They fixed those issues which I believe were the valves they were using. I haven't seen anyone lately post any trouble with patriot heads. I haven't had any issues with mine.

Maybe you should try reading what I am asking for....mathematics and numbers, they are not things that can be had from opinions. Non-the-less, my point was that I don't want personal opinions about the different manufacturer's, because then everybody just starts going in a different direction.
I can tell by your avatar and location that you are a serious individual, who is very mature.

You answered your own question in the 1st post.
More compression and better DCR which will you choose?
Personaly I would get the cam advanced 2* (112 LSA/110 ICL) or 112+2 if you like.

for what it's worth. I'm running a Comp Cam 231/237 .589/.595 112+4 with patriots cnc ls6, 59cc, 2.02in.1.57ex, gasket that came with it. I dont have any issues, she pulls hard once rpm's get to about 3500 rpm. so 91 octane with a good tune should be no problems....

Im all for the 228r and 5.3's.....i like smaller cams for the low end the the 5.3's will maximize ur low and midrange potential with that cam....Sooner or later im going 5.3's with mine. I like that i can get in my power range faster and dont have to get up into 5k+ to feel the pull.

I was very happy with my Livernois heads/cam setup.

Also, see this thread regarding another Livernois C5.

I would keep the torquer V2. I ran it with the PRC Stage LS6 heads and had plenty of bottom end. I use to love to let the car pull from 2,000 in overdrive to 4 or 5,000. It use to get that serious sound past 3,000.
