Default Sealant and gaskets?

I'm going to be doing a cam install over the holiday break. Is it neccessary to use any type of sealant on the gaskets involved?

The only sealant you'll need is a little RTV at the bottom corners of the front conver where it meets the oil pan. Little dap in the corner on top of the pan gasket. Set the cover gasket in it, then put the front cover on.

All the other gaskets in the motor are dry seals.

Just a small dap or Black RTV sealer on each corner where the timing chaing cover meets the oil pan. You will literrally need to use about 1 inch on each corner. Of course, try to get the surface as clean (oil free) as possible before using the sealer.

The rest of the gaskets are great. They are metal gaskets with rubber inserts. They seal up everything great without any additional sealant.

Have fun!
