Default ls1 402?

Hey is it possible to bore my sleeves to 4.00" and put a 4" stroker crank in it without re sleeving. Iam looking for a cheaper way to build my 402 that buying a ls2 block. I searched and couldnt find any info on a ls1 402 just ls2s. Any info will help thatnks.

i think you hve to re-sleeve it.

don't think you can go much bigger than 382 without compromising cylinder strenght and integrety

Default 4" bore

The machine work alone to install the sleeves would cost more than a new LS2 block. The least expensive way to a 4" bore would be an iron block unless you can find a good used LS2 block.

Ive seen LS2 blocks go for a few hundred bucks used.

Do not try to bore the LS1 out any more than 3.91, the common bore for the LS1 is 3.905.

I think the C5R block is the only way to go w/ a bigger bore. IIRC, you can't punch the LS1 stock block. Too thin of sleeves.

LS2 can do it w/ a new rotating assembly, I'm pretty sure.

i might be getting a 6.0 iron block from a friend that is taking it out of his truck and parting out the truck. I didnt want to go with the iron block because i already have such a heavy car, but it looks like its time for some more weight reduction.
