What is wrong with TEA heads? My current heads are not full Stage 1's secondary to not having the lighter stock valves they use. I have the stock valves that come with the heads.. If I remember correctly my heads flow 280cfm at .600 intake and like 240cfm at .600 lift on the exhaust. I have Mac Headers with a 3 inch Y-pipe with dual cutouts going into SLP Dual Dual Exhaust. My best dyno with the V1 cam was 419rwhp/391rwtq and that was with the A/F at 14.3 which is too lean. I played with the maft and got her down to 13.3 and left it there.. Final #'s were 415rwhp/384rwtq... I was satisfied with that. I still need real ls1edit tuning. I am running a old program from 5 cam swaps ago. I personally think TEA heads are great. How many cars dyno almost 420rwhp with almost Stage 1 ls1 heads? Actually, how many cars dyno 420rwhp with Stage 1 LS1 heads? All minus real tuning..

Your welcome, thanks for the business, someday when you come to BG let me know. Maybe I'll have a C5 by then

The CNC program is not finished yet so it would be inappropriate to post the numbers we have right now.

Chris Ridge has workded very hard and has surrounded himself with some very good people, all of which are within an hour of his hometown in Louisville, chassis by Fast Chassis, transmission help by a local guy whose name escapes me heads by TEA, etc. Our locality to him is why he chose us, before we did his heads he said, "If I break a valve and need a chamber welded back up and CNC'd back out, can I get it done in a week"? and I said YES. Customer service as well as record setting performance are our new goals.

There really isn't a way of arguing out the fact that Brian and the guy's over at TEA offer some of the best heads on the market. And they do it at a price that a lot more people can afford...

Inflated #'s? I don't think so. I have spoke with Brian a few times on the phone, he is a straight up guy that doesn't bullshit anyone. Plenty of people have flowed TEA heads, there are all within 8-10 cfm of spec. That variance itself could be just in the flowbench. There are some that "inflate" #'s, but TEA does not. Every one of their heads are put through a state of the art CNC machine, which insures that all their heads are consistant in flow. This also gives them the ability to claim their excellent #'s, and back them up over and over and over again. CNC machine's don't have bad days and good days, the do the same work every time. Some people need to push their assumptions aside until they have hard core evidence to back them up...

Keep up the good work Brian!

Just curious of the flow #'s for the stage 3's. I'd like to see them through the whole lift range for comparison. I checked the website but nothing on there yet.

Brian,

I'll second Levi's reply. I can't believe the difference in my car after using your heads. My car is a freakin' monster, and I love it! I'm really glad I took the chance and called you guys back in September!

I've not had a chance to get dyno #'s yet, but hopefully after the holidays, I will. Keep crankin' out the great products, and we'll all benefit!

Oh yeah, did you get the C5 yet?

Happy holidays man!

Hey Brian, what's the latest and greatest on your LS6 head ports? The website says coming soon, just wondering. Thanks

BTW, I am wondering what the peak lift is for your intake side, and what CC your intake port is.

I have TEA heads on my 99 vette and it dynoed 431/400 on a very lean fuel table hitting knock. I am going back to the dyno in a couple of days to retune and pick up my lost horsepower. These heads are by far the best bang for the buck.

LOnSLO

We have not had much luck with the LS6 heads at small port volumes. If we port it to around 225 cc like our 4.8/5.3/5.7 heads then it flows about the same as those. The big benefit of the LS6 casting is it can safely be taken to 240-250cc, where the 4.8/5.3/5.7 can not be taken that big. We will probably try to run the new 6.0L program (240-250cc/330cfm,280cfm with a pipe @ .600")in the LS6 casting (they share the same intake and exhaust ports) and see how it flows. I'm hoping for about the same results flow wise, but you never know until you do it. These big heads, in my opinion, need to be reserved for bigger displacement or power adder applications.

I would like to try one of those Big Port CNC LS6 heads(High compression) on a 348 with a 230s .625+lift 112 lsa cam. That thing should make some pretty good power.

73cc chamber, what compression ratio will that yield? Also, what's the LS1 stock comp ratio/chamber size?

63cc is about 10.8:1, 67cc is about 10.1:1 so 4cc = .7 change. Assuming compression is linear, 73cc is 6cc larger, so 1.05 should make compression 9.05:1 i think... dunno if it's linear though
