Default Evans Coolant vs. H20/antifreeze to make big HP LS1s run sig. cooler

A local PRO fabricator or race cars who i am friendly with recently showed me his latest wild street rod he built, a blown hemi 1940 something *****, which will make about 700 crank HP and will be worth around $90,000.00 on the open market. This machine is a street rod lovers DREAM COME TRUE!
He was telling my brother and I that he will be using EVANS COOLING SYSTEM (non aqueous Propylene Gycol) instead of water and reg. coolant, as it will help the car run much cooler. Also suggested that i run this in my C5 with my new 427 Stroker. I have never heard of this product before which has a boiling point of 367 degrees vs. 255 degrees for (50/50 water/Ethlene Glycol). Also, it has anti corrosion ingredients added to it and i was wondering whether anyone has anymore knowledge on this product and whether you think its a wise product for high. performance LS1 applications in our C5s.

Thanks,

Are you saying that the EVANS Coolant System in a LS1 turned out to be a bad idea, and if yes, Why?

Also, how expensive can the Evans Coolant be for one container? ($25/$50/$100?.

Thanks,

if you have an aluminum block i wouldnt do it..but iron block i see no problem with it..i have used it many times in mustang's i have built in the past and it is pretty effective (about 30 or 35 degree temp drops ) but if you are up north where it freezes constantly i wouldn't use it..it's not bad it's about $30-35 a container here in florida it works great...but i have no experience in ls1's with it..sound's like a good idea but there could be some flaws...anyone know of any bad result's? thank's.

TTT for ya

I don't see why it would be bad because your block is aluminum... so is your radiator. Evans works great, but if you spring a leak on the road, unless you have a gallon in your trunk, you are screwed. With antifreeze, you can add water until you get home... evans and water don't mix. IIRC, it was about $100 to fill your system.

This shouldn't take long...I belive ther was a big discussion on Evans in the LS1, and it was very bad idea. GMHTP used it in Magnum TPI with great results, but damn!! ths cost!!
