Default Anyone Know the Weight Difference Between 6.0 Iron block and Ls1?

I am wanting to know because I had lowering springs on my car with the ls1 and then I put the 6.0 in and it was sitting on the tires. Then I put factory springs back on and its still too low. My car scrapes on the road itself sometimes.

according to a book at autozone at least 88 lbs, but that was for a 5.7, so figure around 100 or so lbs

i sure hope that was with crank and rods, or you might be needing a new scale.

So if it is that heavy does it mean that you are offsetting the power you gain by the weight?

i wouldnt worry so much 65-100 pounds is worth it if you plan on getting the thing over 700hp. (with good internals)if not. i would stroke the alum. block.(with goodinternals) dont resleeve its not worth the problems!

Actually he is right, I have a 6.0 block in my Kitchen. The LT1 weighs about 225lbs, that 6.0 is a little heavier, about 250lbs. I can barely lift it up, and I can throw a LT1 around fairly easy.
A way to fix your Suspension, look for a set of LT1 front Springs. I am dropping that 6.0l in a LT1 Car, I have an Eibach kit in it, so I am already setup.
