Default cam driveability problems

I recently had a cam put into my car and ever since i got the car back the car stalls out in reverse alot and the brakes do not work all that great, i was talking with one of my teachers at school and he told me that i might need to instal a vacuum canister, i dont want to sound like an idiot but where exactly would i instal it and how do i know what size or type of vacuum canister i would need

If it's the cam in your sig, I don't think you should need a vacuum canister. With a good tune, it shouldn't have any of the problems your describing.

The vacuum canisters used to be pretty common on sb chevy's with long duration hydraulic or solid street cams, but not so much anymore with the gen III motors/roller cams. Sounds like your teacher is old school.

nothing wrong with oldschool...but times have changed a bit...I would say its just the tune...refine it and I think you will be pleased!

Then you need to take it back to whomever tuned it and let them know the tune still needs some work.

Get it retuned. It could take a few hours to get it perfect.
