non-synthetic oil????
I just had my entire motor rebuilt from cartek. From pistons, rods and rings, all the way up to the heads and cam. However... dave at cartek told me that i should use regular oil at the 500 mile point instead of sythetic. I then said "but that I go to synthetic right?" He said it's not necessary any more with the hardened piston rings that I got and that although I can still use synthetic that there is no need to. Anyone ever heard of this or know why?

Non Syn for break-in
I'm using Shell Rotella-T for break-in. After 2 changes (50 & 500 miles) I'm changing back to Mobil 1.
I've been told that Rotella-T has a higher level of Zinc which helps seat things. It's meant for trucks, not cars. Standard car motor oils are formulated differently that truck oils apparently.
