Opinions on LS6 and SDPCs Z+220 cam
Hey guys I currently have a 2002 LS6 cam in my car with no tune. I've been thinking of getting another cam that might give me a little stronger ETs at the track but I still want a cam that drives great in the steet since this is just a DD (I have the '69 camaro as the real play toy). My question is I was looking and found a cam by SDPC (which is listed below) and was wondering if this is a cam thats worth looking into over the LS6?

Seems like it should work pretty well for what you are wanting. I'd prefer a 112 LSA, installed straight up, but that one should work installed 2 degrees advanced.
edit - I see from your sig you do not have headers, so the 114 LSA keeps overlap at .050 lift down to -6 degrees. A tighter LSA would be good with headers, but you are probably better off with 114+2.

if you call them they can customize any of those cams they have. I have been looking at these as well, but I am looking at the 228/228 they have. You could have them make it on a 112 if you don't like the 114.
How much more power are you looking to make? This SDPC cam doesn't look much bigger than the LS6? Isn't it something like 210/218 551 lift? You could probably raise the duration a little bit on the SPDC one and still leave it 114 and still keep a great idle, that will work well as a DD

Well, the LS6 cam is .550/.550 lift 204/218 @ 0.050 duration w/ a 117.5 LSA
This cam is a .551/.551 lift 220/224 @ 0.050 duration w/ a 114 LSA.
So the lift numbers are about the same but the intake side has 16* more duration @ .050 and the exhaust has 6* more @ .050. Also the LSA is tighter. With this cam and any other general cam of this nature what is the biggest thing that needs to be changed in the computer to allow the car to idle? I have HPTuner that I haven't used other than to change my rear gear from 2.73 to 3.23. Now the so???are is very easy to use and if its just something like bringing the idle up thats no problem at all.
