Default which h/c setup

so i graduate from school in june and my dad jsut said he would get me whatever i wanted for my car as a present...

ive been looking at going H/C for a while and have my choices down to this

the TSP package:
PRC stg 2.5 5.3 heads with a 224R

or

Thunder racing cheatr package..

i was wondering which would yield more power/ease of driveability

any testimonials would be great espically if you have this setup on your car...

what you need to do is come up with a REALISTIC goal for the car. keep in mind the cheaTR package was design around the stock exhaust.

also you need to know that if you go with a high lift cam you may need a stall converter. also you need all the supporting mods to really benefit.

oh ya why is that? Have you seen the gains MS4s are putting out? Its getting rediculous with these "cam only" setups.

Gonna bolting up the TSP ls6 stage 1's and an MS3 this weekend or the next, the car they're comming off of made 440+ rwhp(Stalled A4) tuned for No2 and I'll be running on and NA tune, in an M6.... So once I get everything buttoned up I'll let you know my 2 cents.. Read around, seems like the MS3 is Highly recomended... As are the TSP ls6 heads, there isn't any reason for you to go any bigger if you're going ot try and pass smog. I havent heard much about the CheatR package.

Ur driving every day in cali. Trex shouldn't be one of ur choices. Ur pops is paying, so go with afr heads, 228/228 113 lsa. I'd pass with this setup if I still had my emission stuff on a catted y. U can pass smog in cali with a lot of mods, it just costs a little extra every two years.lol oh yeah, if ur ever in san jose I'd be glad to show you what this car does with what a lot of people on this forum think is a baby cam.lol

Smog legal? How bout something real close to your TSP package that will make a bit more power. TR 224 on a 114 LSA with Livernois Stage 2 heads (budet oriented setup, otherwise I'd go with the 'Mamofied package')? Good combo, look around and see. See if he'll throw in a Mamo ported FAST 90 setup - it'll bump up ur numbers nicely.
