My buddy just got his 98 ls1 block back from the machine shop and they did a hone/hot tank job. The mechanic told him since he honed it, it expanded the cylinder wall slightly and that he should look at getting some file fit rings. I was just wondering, what size gaps should he be running?? Some guy with a similiar setup told us hes running .018 top and .022 on the second. What exactly should be the file gaps??? Does he even need file fit???
