Default German Castrol 0w-30 or M1 0W-40???

WHich oil should I get I have M1 5w-30 and its to thin I have a 98 SS with 80,000 on it. I want a little thicker oil. Will the M1 0w-40 hurt performance. The M1 is easy to get and The GC I can't find around here in Eastern PA. Or is there any other oil then these that is a good choice like RP,Amsiol, ect?? Let me know thanks

I've run both with good results, both ran better and burned less than M1 5w-30. I would perfer GC but it's sometime hard to find, when autozone is out of it I just run M1 0w-40.

Mobil 1 is crap, search some of the tests on here.

All I use is Castrol Syntec or Royal Purple.

I run German Castrol 0W-30 in five cars, including the Vette and do use oil analysis regularly. Best results to date are with the German Castrol and I am sticking with it until I can't get it any more.
