I think it would be relatively safe, but from what i understand it would provide no performance advantage and infact would hinder performance. From my understanding, avgas is formulated differently and as a consequence has a much slower burn rate. This topic was covered in detail quite a few years ago in one of the performance mags, but in all honesty i do not remember a whole lot about what they discovered .

I don't know about o2 sensors, but I used it exclusively in my boat; 25' Eliminator Daytona with a whipple charged 509. 8.8:1 compression / 8.5psi boost. After 200hrs of use, I pulled the engine apart and it was perfect. AV gas is the most regulated fuel available per the FAA for minimum octane (100), consistancy and clarity.
